TopChoice ("we", "us", "our") is operated by EightySix Digital. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
We only collect the information you choose to give us, for example, when you submit our contact or "Get Featured" forms. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, business details and your message. We also collect standard, anonymised analytics about how the site is used (such as pages visited and approximate location) to help us improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't send marketing you haven't asked for.
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run the site, for example, form delivery (to email us your enquiries), website hosting, and analytics. These providers process limited data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service.
The site uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and to understand how it is used. This includes Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) for anonymised traffic and usage statistics, and Microsoft Clarity, which provides aggregated heatmaps and anonymised session replays showing how visitors interact with our pages so we can improve them. These tools do not capture the text you type into forms, and we use the information only in aggregate to improve the site, never to identify you personally. Our rankings reflect our opinion based on publicly available information, including business details, service areas, customer feedback, professional credentials and other relevant selection factors. We do not host our own reviews, and we are not affiliated with listed businesses unless clearly stated.
Some pages include a clearly labelled featured placement, which is a paid advertising option for businesses. Featured placements sit separately from, and do not influence, our editorial Top 5 rankings. Where a placement is paid, it is always labelled as featured.
TopChoice is continually expanding and reviewing its directory. Business ownership, locations, services, qualifications, pricing and availability can change, and information may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Our lists are a starting point rather than the sole basis for choosing a provider. Before engaging a business, conduct your own checks and confirm its current services, experience, qualifications, licences, insurance, pricing and suitability for your needs directly with the provider.
You deal directly with the businesses listed on TopChoice. TopChoice does not provide the listed services, is not a party to any agreement, booking or transaction between you and a business, and does not guarantee the quality, safety or outcome of work performed by third-party providers. Any service-related issues should be raised directly with the business concerned.
