Start with the treatment. Facials and skin care, waxing, brow and lash work, spray tans, and advanced treatments like microdermabrasion or peels need different training, so check the salon and therapist specialise in what you want.
Qualifications and hygiene matter. Look for trained, experienced therapists, clean rooms and good reviews, especially for treatments that affect your skin. A consultation and patch test are signs of a careful salon.
Think about the experience and value, the atmosphere, how relaxed you feel, the products used, and whether they offer packages or memberships if you visit regularly. The right salon is one you trust with your skin.
A facial often runs around $90 to $180, brow shaping from about $20 to $40, and waxing and lash treatments vary by area and style. Advanced skin treatments are priced higher. Ask for a price list.
For facials, tinting, lash work and advanced skin treatments, a consultation and sometimes a patch test are recommended to check suitability and avoid reactions. A good salon will arrange this.
A week or two is usually enough for standard treatments, but book earlier for evenings, weekends and busy periods like before Christmas and event season. Series of treatments should be scheduled in advance.
Most offer facials, waxing, brow and lash treatments, tinting, spray tans and manicures, with many adding advanced skin treatments such as microdermabrasion, peels and LED. Check the salon offers what you need.
Reputable salons carry options for sensitive skin and will tailor treatments after a consultation. Always mention allergies, medications and skin concerns before you start.
Many Napier salons offer treatment packages, memberships and gift vouchers, which can be better value for regular treatments or as a gift. Ask what is available.
